The SHPE Conference is the major event for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Inc. and the largest technical and career conference for Hispanics in the country. Each year, the SHPE Conference attracts nearly 5,000 engineering professionals, students and corporate representatives. The conference is an opportunity for engineering companies and corporations to recruit top talent from SHPE membership. It also provides educational, technical and career opportunities for professional and student engineers
SHPE Region 4 RLDC - Amplifying Leadership About RLDC (from the RLDC site)RLDC attendees represent the current and future leadership of SHPE's Region IV chapters. It attracts 300 Hispanic technical members representing over 45 colleges & universities and 12 professional chapters across the Northeastern United States. Attendees interact and network with SHPE corporate supporters, professional and student members. They learn the tools to manage and improve their respective chapters and communities. The conference consists of a weekend modeled to harness the leaders' talents, energy, and creativity. Attendees are formed into groups of different SHPE chapters to work on a team project. In the project, teams are to run a pseudo SHPE chapter: they must elect an executive board, create a budget, events and meetings, look for funding from corporate supporters, and create an end-of-the-year report presentations. The conference continues with a series of Workshops presented by corporate sponsors, Networking Sessions, Advisors Forum, Professional Luncheon, and the Gala Banquet. There will be separate workshop tracks for students, professionals, juniors, and advisors. The conference closes with a "Passing the Torch" Seminar and LeaderSHPE Meetings preparing attendees for the road ahead as they lead their local SHPE chapters to a higher level of success
