Crocodile Hunter
A tragedy has occurred. Steve Irwin, otherwise known as the Crocodile Hunter, died today filming for one of his documentaries. He was killed by a stingray in the Great Barrier Reef in Austrailia. Irwin was known as an eccentric character, wearing his traditional khaki shirt and shorts and heavy boots. He would film documentaries about wildlife and get extremely close to some of the world's most dangerous animals. His untimely death was pretty freakish too. Stingrays have a poisonous barb on their tail. Stingrays attack when they are frightened, usually when animals swim too close to them. Irwin was famous for risking his life and getting up close and personal with animals and I guess the stingray didn't like it and stung Irwin in the chest. Unfortunately, the barb made a hole in Irwin's heart and he died shortly after.

The Crocodile Hunter was famous for his show on the Discovery Channel and on Animal Planet. He entertained viewers with his heavy Austrailian accent and his wildlife adventures. He would wrestle crocodiles and touch other deadly creatures. He turned his parents' wildlife preserve, Austrailia Zoo, into an international tourist attraction. Irwin filmed his documentaries with his wife Terri. They had two children, a daughter Bindi Sue, 8, and a son, Bob who will turn 3 in December. It's a damn shame that they won't have their husband and father with them any longer. My prayers go out to them.

I don't know about you guys, but I was deeply saddened by this news. I was a fan of his work and he was just a classy guy. I would watch his show with my little brother all through high school. We'd just watch and laugh at the show all the time. The Crocodile Hunter was a pretty funny guy. It was tight how he would just get up all in the animals' faces and stuff. This is a horrible way to start off the year. I was hoping this school year would be better but this news won't help. I just hope people remember the Crocodile Hunter as a cool cat. He died doing what he loved I guess. It's still a damn shame.
