Historian

1.  What responsibilities do you have in your position?

The responsibilities as the Historian of SHPE-USC is just as its title suggests, record "history".  This task is mainly accomplished by attending many of the events that our chapter hosts and taking an abundant amount of pictures.  The pictures can later be filed, used in presentations or they can be uploaded on to our website.

2.  How does your position contribute to SHPE-USC overall?

The most important contribution to the chapter as a Historian is simple; it mainly consists of keeping records of past events with actual pictures.  This provides our members and officers the ability to re-live past events all over again upon viewing the pictures.

3.  What is your most challenging objective throughout your term?

The most challenging objective was to upload all of the pictures on to the website.  The task wasn't difficult but simply took plenty of time.  My recommendation for the future Historian would be to upload the pictures as soon as possible to avoid accumulation of files and this would ultimately reduce the time spent on the computer.

I would highly recommend for those of you that have never been on a SHPE board to try the Historian position because it provides great exposure to SHPE and enhances your leadership skills, especially when you are surrounded by a board that is composed of sharp, dedicated and hardworking individuals.
