Symposium PIctures!

So here are some pictures of MAES USC at the Symposium Career Fair. It was a great career fair because there were so many companies representing all different kinds of engineering, from IBM to NASA to Lockheed Martin and Delphi (the company which sponsored my $2,000 scholarship!). What also kept the career fair interesting were the raffles that they had throughout the day, with excelent prizes and for which you had to be present to win! Our very own MAES President Joel Ulloa even won an IPOD VIDEO!!! I felt very close to everyone at the conference, even at the national level since I met most at the National Leadership Conference in April. Its really great to be able to keep in touch with both professionals and students from other chapters of MAES from colleges and universities across the nation, because it makes the conferences so much more enjoyable, since you're able to spend time with friends! I feel that SHPE USC has contributed a great deal to making this symposium great as well! Since MAES is a new chapter, SHPE has been very supportive and were even able to send some members to MAES Symposium as well, including myself (Secretary of SHPE) and Chris and Izzy (October's SHPE Member of the Month). All of MAES really appreciates the support and we hope we will be able to work together with SHPE in upcoming events! Here's a picture at the career fair: There's (from the left) Ernesto, Vanessa, Jose, David, me (Rebeca), Joel, Chris, and Izzy. And here's a picture outside of the really nice San Jose McEnery Convention Center (with our cool green "Society of MAES" bracelets (which were a great idea to have, from Nationals!): And here's a picture of me with my sister Lorena, member of MAES at UC Irvine, with Connie Medina (we all share the same last name!!!!) MAES National Treasurer: good times :)

That sounds really great, I think I'll definitely consider going next year. You can never do too much networking, especially as an engineer, getting yourself out there really makes a difference.
